Hello, I’m Nanou!

(Real name Mary Ellen)

I’ve been curating special events and floral designs professionally and personally for over twenty five years. My path may have started in hospitality management but when I was staring 50 in the face, I decided to take a deep breath and dive in to my passion. In late 2025 began floral design training with Longwood Gardens, learning from some of the best in the business and making invaluable contacts. At the same time I transformed my basement in to an enchanted cottage studio.

Flowers make you feel. Flowers evoke emotions. (I've been known to cry over dahlias, I mean, how are they even possible?!) Creating a beautiful gift of flowers means I get to be a part of the lasting memories to someone's big day or special moment in life. And that makes me feel amazing.

I'll work with you to make your ideas come to life and capture the style you like the best. I’ll chat to you extensively to customize your vision, and make sure your have the perfect end result that you want. I'll make sure you feel amazing, too.

The story behind Nanou...

The name Nanou was given to me by my beloved Aunt Suzy when I was a baby in the 70's, and it stuck. She was magical, fabulous....a trés chic fairy godmother who had more flare than any human I know. She showed me the sparkle in life. I watched how she "always made a fuss" over the ones she loved with thoughtful gifts, heartfelt cards, and fabulous adventures. She taught me the art of "juhzing" things up. It seems fitting that all roads have led me here, and that blooms by NANOU is now ready to step out into the spotlight to carry on her sparkle.
